James Braddock and Heidi Sadler Speak at the NYC Builds Bio+ Life Science Real Estate Development Symposium
MG Partner James Braddock and MG Associate Heidi Sadler presented two case studies at the 2021 NYC Builds Bio+ Life Sciences Real Estate Development Symposium. During the session “Breaking Down the NY Metro Life Science Industry: A Look at Leading Subclusters,” they spoke about our work with Mount Sinai on the West Side Life Sciences Hub as well as the Bronk Translational Center at Rockefeller University.
The 30-year, 165,000 square foot lease signed by Mount Sinai for the West Side Life Science Hub, is the largest life science space leased in 2020. Mitchell Giurgola in collaboration with NK Architects are designing the cutting-edge research and clinical center at 787 Eleventh Avenue. The new facility spans three floors and will accommodate a wide range of biomedical research and includes a vivarium, genomics and proteomics core facilities, and associated infrastructure.
On the Upper East Side, MG is also designing the Bronk Translational Center at Rockefeller University. The Center will accommodate state-of-the research labs for the Tri-Institutional (Tri-I) Therapeutic Discovery Institute (TDI), a collaborative venture of Rockefeller University, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Weill Cornell Medicine, which advances biological discoveries to preclinical studies. The Center will also house a commercial incubator for start-ups originating in Rockefeller’s labs.
