Mitchell Giurgola is happy to share that University of Connecticut’s Gant Science Complex was recognized with an AIA Connecticut Design Award of Merit under the category “Commercial, Institutional, Educational, or Multi-Family Residential Design – Large.” Designed in partnership with Goody Clancy, the renovation transforms a dark 1970s building into a state-of-the-art science facility, containing new teaching labs, experimental research labs, departmental offices, and a new two-story light court. A jury praised the design for its “commitment to renovation, exterior thermal improvements, and rejuvenating interior with light and welcome spaces.”
