Mitchell Giurgola is proud to have been awarded the 2024 American Architecture Award by the Chicago Athenaeum for our work at the CUNY LaGuardia Community College Center III Building. This transformative renovation revitalizes a century-old structure, ensuring its future as a dynamic hub for students and faculty. Our design replaces the deteriorating façade with a contemporary unitized curtainwall while honoring its historic terracotta character. A reimagined entrance and lobby enhance clarity, security, and student engagement.
