Mitchell Giurgola is honored to receive the 2024 American Architecture Award by the Chicago Athenaeum for the renovation of Sunset Park Library. This project reimagines an essential community space, nearly doubling the library’s size while integrating affordable housing. Designed in collaboration with Brooklyn Public Library and NYC stakeholders, the library’s dynamic, light-filled spaces welcome all generations, from children to teens and adults. A true civic anchor, the project reflects our commitment to thoughtful, community-driven design.
